RILLA Shield AI Invoice add-on for ServiceM8

RILLA Shield adds an AI fraud scan to every supplier invoice and vendor bill in your ServiceM8 account. Each bill gets a clear verdict — SAFE, REVIEW or HOLD — posted back to the job as a note, so fake invoices and changed bank details are caught before the money leaves your account.

This guide covers installing, connecting, using, troubleshooting and removing the add-on. Support: admin@rillashield.app

What the add-on does

Verdict on every invoice

Each new vendor invoice is scanned automatically. The verdict and the reasons behind it are written back to the related ServiceM8 job as a note.

Hold before payment

High-risk bills are flagged and held for review in RILLA Shield, and the account owner is alerted by email and SMS.

22-layer detection

ABN and business-name checks, bank-detail change detection, domain and email forensics, document analysis, amount reconciliation against the job, supplier behaviour history and more.

Read-only and safe

RILLA Shield never edits your invoices, never changes payment details and never moves money. It reads invoice data and writes a note with its verdict.

Before you start

  • An active ServiceM8 account with permission to install add-ons.
  • A RILLA Shield account. You can create one free at rillashield.app/auth — the trial includes full scanning with no card required.

Step-by-step: install and connect

Setup takes about two minutes
Follow these steps in order.
1

Install the add-on in ServiceM8

In ServiceM8, open Settings → Add-ons, search for RILLA Shield AI Invoice and click Add.
2

Create or sign in to your RILLA Shield account

You are taken to rillashield.app/integrations/servicem8. Sign in, or create an account with your email address.
3

Authorise access

Click Connect ServiceM8. ServiceM8 asks you to approve access to customers, jobs, materials, vendors and vendor invoices. Click Allow. You are returned to RILLA Shield and the connection shows as Active.
4

Run your first scan

On the integration page, click Scan invoices. RILLA Shield pulls your recent vendor invoices and returns a verdict for each one. After this first run, new invoices are scanned automatically.
5

Read the verdicts

Verdicts appear in two places: as a note on the related ServiceM8 job, and in the RILLA Shield dashboard where you can open a full breakdown of every detection layer that fired.

Understanding the verdicts

SAFE
Supplier, ABN, bank details and amounts all match known-good history. Pay as normal.
REVIEW
Something is unusual — a new supplier, a changed email domain, or an amount that does not line up with the job. Check before paying.
HOLD
Strong fraud indicators, such as changed bank details on a known supplier. The bill is held and you are alerted immediately. Verify by phone using a number you already have.

Data and permissions

The add-on requests read access to customers, jobs, materials, vendors and vendor invoices, plus permission to add a note to a job. That note is the only thing RILLA Shield writes back. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in Australia, and never sold or shared with third parties. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.

Troubleshooting

The connection shows "Not connected" after authorising

Return to the integration page and click Connect ServiceM8 again. If your browser blocked the redirect pop-up, allow pop-ups for rillashield.app and retry.

No invoices appear after a scan

RILLA Shield scans vendor invoices. If your ServiceM8 account has no vendor invoices in the recent period, nothing will be returned. Add a vendor invoice and click Scan invoices again.

A verdict looks wrong

Open the invoice in the RILLA Shield dashboard and use the feedback control on the verdict. That correction trains your account's supplier baseline so future scans are more accurate.

Connection failed or expired

Access tokens are refreshed automatically. If a refresh fails — usually because access was revoked in ServiceM8 — the integration page shows the error and a Reconnect button.

Managing your account

Adding users

Invite team members from Settings in the RILLA Shield dashboard. Each user signs in with their own credentials and two-factor authentication.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect on the integration page, or remove the add-on in ServiceM8. Scanning stops immediately and stored tokens are deleted.
